What You Will Need to Complete the Permit Process

Please apply for your Commercial Building permit using the information below. 

Ensure you have all of the following items as applicable to submit for a new build commercial or commercial remodel permit. 

You will need to upload the following documents with your permit application:(City Building Inspection Department may request additional information if necessary)

***Drawings must be drawn to scale, dimensioned and of sufficient clarity.

  1. Permit Application
  2. Site Plan
  3. Floor and roof plans
  4. Exterior elevation
  5. Door schedules, window schedules, hardware schedules
  6. Construction details; interior elevations and interior finish schedules
  7. Structural plans must include: foundation plans, roof and floor framing plans, wall sections and details
  8. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing site plans and schedules
  9. Plumbing plans (including riser diagram)
  10. Mechanical plans
  11. Electrical plans
  12. Certified Energy Compliance Report

City is not responsible for compliance with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Architectural Barriers (if over $50,000 value) and Asbestos Report or declaration (if remodel or demolition).

You will upload all of the above documents after completing the registration on the permit portal as described above.
